    Scott Dunn

    Meet The Getaway Guru

Discover where a holiday expert like Kate Pittam, PR & Partnership Manager at Scott Dunn, goes to escape the world and what she packs to go there.

What is your 'not-been-yet-but-I-can-dream destination' in the Scott Dunn portfolio and why?
I fell in love with Africa when I went on my first safari when I was 14, and have been desperate to go back ever since. I would love to stay at one of the Singita safari camps – they are the ultimate in interior design, understated luxury and service.

Where have you been that you now tell everyone that they must, must, must go? Why?
Oooh – it’s so hard to choose. Gili Lankanfushi in the Maldives is one of the best for barefoot luxury. You don’t wear shoes for the entirety of your stay, and you are supplied with bicycles to whizz around the island on. Pure heaven.

Also a Scott Dunn ski chalet – once you have done a ski holiday in this way it is hard to imagine staying anywhere else.

What are the top three criteria that makes a Scott Dunn holiday a Scott Dunn holiday?
We listen and tailor our holidays around our guests to ensure we create the perfect trip for them.

Our service is wonderful and our guests trust us, not only to tailor the right holiday for them, but to look after them from the moment they speak to one of our specialists, until after they have returned home. We take care of our guests every step of the way.

We have amazing first-hand knowledge - our travel specialists visit all the places we sell, so know our properties and the local area inside out.

When you travel for work what always makes it into your suitcase?
I am not very good at packing – I always end up taking way too much! But when travelling with work, my mini iPad is a must, I love Liz Earle skincare because with flying and air-conditioning my skin really dries out, and a good cover up like one of your Wispy scarves.

If you could choose one Begg & Co scarf to take you around the world and back which one would it be and why does it work for every destination?
I love the Wispy scarf in silver or shell – this style is light, beautifully soft and these are both perfect colours to match with pretty much any outfit. The Wispy is also the ideal cover up for when you are a little chilly on a plane, visiting a temple, or sheltering from the wind.
