Calling All Paisley Punks

This season, we are also proud to introduce “Calling All Paisley Punks” captured by Robbie Lawrence, Vivek Vadoliya, Stuart Williamson, Studio Small and Teddy Mitchell and with music by Scottish band The Twilight Sad.

In the late 70’s, the Punk music scene brought edge and anarchy to Glasgow, which eventually led to Punk being banned from the city in 1977. Local promoter known as ‘Disco Harry’ saw this as an opportunity, and drew the crowds 11 miles down the road to his town of Paisley … which later went on to become one of the first places to launch a Punk Record company ‘Groucho Marxist’. Although today Punk bands are allowed to play in Glasgow, Paisley remains home of the Punk scene, and where you will still find ripped clothing styles, Mohican's and pin badges.

‘Calling all Paisley Punks’ follows the story of two artists who go to extremes to find adventure and originality; fleeing the everyday and rediscovering the foundations of our Scottish Culture. For us, it’s an attitude, a coolness and a style. Primal Nature translates into a raw artisan aesthetic, co-ordinated with modern urban eloquence. We revisit plaids, checks, tartans and knits to create an archaic style with primal screams of colour. Every piece is imagined and realised with meticulous care, dedication and love.

AW20 Tartan Army

Introducing the final drop of our AW20 collection, Tartan Army. Built in 1934 with a sprung dancefloor and host to some of the most well-known artists of all time, from David Bowie to the Stones, we captured Tartan Army at one of the most iconic music venues there is, The Barrowland Ballroom. A true form of escapism and the perfect location for our drop that encapsulates everything Tartan Army. “Everyone who’s anyone has passed through the Barrowland”.

AW20 Smoke & Mirrors

Introducing the next drop of our AW20 collection, Smoke and Mirrors. Scotland’s original independent cinema and the home of film in Glasgow, Smoke and Mirrors is captured at the GFT (Glasgow Film Theatre) which first opened in 1939. The architectural beauty both internally and externally of the cinema and the artistic references through entertainment made it the most desirable place for us to capture this drop.
